Pet Connection is the Regina Humane Society’s community outreach initiative, focused on keeping pets and families together. Through programs like our Pet Food Bank and subsidized services, we provide accessible support, education, and resources to help remove barriers to pet care – ensuring more animals can stay where they belong: at home with the people who love them.
Pets are family – and when families face hard times, pets feel it too.
The Regina Humane Society’s Pet Connection Food Bank provides short-term pet food and essential supplies to individuals and families experiencing financial hardship. Our goal is to help keep pets safe, fed, and at home with the people who love them.
How the Food Bank Works
Pet Connection is a coordinated community effort:
Accessing Support at the RHS
Because food stored at the shelter is limited, access to the Pet Connection Food Bank directly through the RHS is:
✔ Limited to once per month per household
✔ Intended to provide short-term support
This helps ensure food remains available to as many families as possible.
Accessing Food & Supplies Through Our Community Partners
To make support more accessible across Regina, Pet Connection partners with local community organizations that help distribute pet food and supplies within their neighbourhoods. These partners expand the reach of the program and help families access support closer to home.
Community Partners
Our Supporters
Pet Connection is made possible thanks to the generosity of local businesses, organizations, and community members who donate food and supplies.
These supporters provide the resources that allow the program to operate – however, they do not distribute food directly to the public.

Volunteers help bring Pet Connection to life by:
Behind every bag is a pet who gets to stay home.
Behind every donation is a family who feels supported.
Together, we are building a community where no one has to choose between caring for themselves and caring for their pet.
Keep Pets Safe. Keep Families Together.
Microchipping is one of the most effective ways to ensure lost pets are reunited with their families. Unlike collars and tags – which can fall off or be removed – a microchip provides a permanent form of identification that stays with your pet for life.
At the Regina Humane Society, we believe that pets are family. Through our Pet Connection programming, we are working to remove barriers and provide accessible microchipping clinics to help keep pets where they belong – at home.
What is Microchipping?
A microchip is a small device, about the size of a grain of rice, that is safely implanted just under your pet’s skin. Each chip contains a unique ID number that is linked to your contact information in a secure database.
If your pet ever becomes lost and is brought to a shelter or veterinary clinic, they can be scanned and quickly reunited with you.
